Ok and here she is...

Ok she's not really put together yet so dont get excited!  But this looks great.  I think I have amazed myself!  OH my!!  Did I do this??!!  Next on the to do list is the actual putting her together.  In this photo here, I just have everything tucked inside

Body's Side by Side...

The pattern is made!

I made a pattern.  Using the old as a guide somewhat and then just going for it, I made a rough draft.  My first attempt, I had the arms way too small and legs.  My second attempt, I believe I did it.  Below is the body.  I know...right now it kind of looks like clothes.

She is apart....no turning back now!

Below is the baby doll.  I believe she's actually called a Baby Dear Babydoll or maybe a Dear Baby.  I have taken her apart and now you can see what was inside her.  She's now ready for some good cleaning after this and I will be making a pattern for her new body from her old body

My next project....

A friend has asked me to see if I can repair a baby doll that she had as a young child.  She would like to give this doll to her granddaughter now.  The baby is in tough shape as you can see from this photo.  I hope to give this baby new life so her granddaughter can get many years of enjoyment as well.  Wish me luck!  This has some sewing involved.  I will need to make this baby a new body which is fabric and has a filler.  The arms, legs, and head a plastic so they need a good cleaning.  The hair...I'm reading up on and have a few ideas to try.  Lets begin!

The tote has been finished!

It took be a while to decide on the strap.  I found this webbing material that you buy by the yard and it comes in different colors.  It seems very sturdy and I like it very much.  I've been using my tote for about a week now and its holding up great and holding lots of stuff!

Happy New Year

Well its been a month since I've been on here.  I have sewed a dress for my neice as a Christmas Present and didn't take a pic of it either.  It was a blue pillow case dress and actually a top for her, not really a dress.  Other than that I had to take a break due to the holidays and work.  But today, it was cold outside, sleeting and snowing.  No church today as that was cancelled and it was a stay at home day.  We watched movies, ate, watched another movie, cleaned, did clothes.  I decided I wanted to get back to sewing.  But not aprons...I wanted to do a tote!  My friend, Marsha, gave me a pattern last week and I was nervous about it.  I had the fabric.  I used the quilted fabric that I bought a while back not knowing really what i would wind up doing with it.  I did it!  well, partly.  It doesn't have straps yet as I didnt have enough fabric for the straps.  So i guess thats a trip to the store to find some matching material or perhaps some creative idea to use as a strap.  A belt did come to mind, but the ones I did have here at home were way too thick.  So i still have my thinking cap on.  But it did come together nicely.  This is the medium tote.  I am pleased!  And now I will check outside to see what the weather is going...I here it is sleeting again and no school tomorrow for the kids!
